Spring is in the air! Give yourself the opportunity to start something new as the weather warms up and there are more opportunities to get outside. Who knows? Maybe something will bloom.
Until then, here are a few pandemic-proof date ideas.
**We’re happy to see indoor venues re-opening but as always, we advise that you wear a mask and social distance for your and others’ safeties.
Saint Phalle’s “Structures from Life” at MoMA PS1
Acclaimed French-American artist Niki de Saint Phalle turned heads for her feminist, performative, collaborative, and monumental works from the beginning of her career in the 1950s. Therefore, she is best known for her bright odes to the female form, her Nanas, and imaginative environments such as Tarot Garden, but this exhibition will feature her over 200 models, drawings, prints, films, and never-before-seen archival materials.

Cherry Blossoms at Flushing Meadows Corona Park
Cherry blossom season is here! In Flushing Meadows Corona Park, there are 168 Yamazakura and Somei-Yoshino cherry trees gifted to the borough by the Japanese American Association and the Cherry Association of Japan. Head towards the Unisphere for the best view and watch the branches shake off little pink hearts in the wind.
It’s oft said that a man’s stomach is the way to his heart but we think it’s a universal truth for everyone. Walk on over to Parkside after viewing the cherry blossoms and order their famous baked clams.
Reserve a table for two here.
The farm grows more than 200 varieties of fruit, vegetables, flowers and herbs, including many heirloom varieties that you can’t get in the grocery store. While that produce will be available later in the season, they also sell farm-fresh eggs, raw local honey, loose teas, and yarn from their alpacas and Cotswold sheep. Cook a delicious lunch for two after your visit.
Don’t forget to give the animals (from chickens to alpacas) at the farm love, too!

The owner, Evan Rumeliotis, wanted a bar to reflect one of his favorite songs, Nick Cave’s “I Let Love In,” and he designed the perfect venue for date night. Warm and cozy, it serves schnapps and martinis, notably made of Astoria’s own Queens Courage gin. Live music serenades you as you create a soundtrack for your relationship.
Last week, they did a two-for-Tuesday rock block of all your favorites: BTO, BOC, and REO Speedwagon. See what they offer this week!
